Amar Flowers opened its doors in August 2002, On Dupont St., across from the Galleria.   It is a flower shop that blossomed from a ten-year dream of mine, and in that way, it is a creation of love.  I have always loved flowers and dreamt of having my own flower shop, although, at that time, its realization was far from happening.  Eight years ago I embarked on professional training as a florist, and then found a job in a flower shop.  The more I experienced working with flowers and with the public, the more enthusiasm, pride and delight that I felt.

As I endeavored in this field, I found much encouragement from friends and family to start my own business.   In particular, one dear and close friend of mine inspired me to launch forth into this venture.  And so, Amar Flowers was born.

The origin of the name of my business, 'amar', came from my own last name, which is 'Amaro'.  Interestingly enough, my name also has the root word 'amar' in it, which means love in Portuguese.  Given what this creation meant to me, it only seemed natural to call it  "AMAR FLOWERS".

We have recently moved to 1268A St. Clair St. W., in the heart of Little Italy, as we have grown, thanks to the patronage and support of our clients.

We specialize in fresh flowers for all occasions, make arrangements from both fresh and dried flowers, and carry small decorative items and some pieces of fine furniture.

It is both a pleasure and an honour to have the opportunity to work in this field with people, where we share in the occasions of life's festivities, and in the times of greatest sadness or greatest joy of our patrons' lives.
